Pak Army lodges protest with UNMOGIP against Indian ceasefire violations

UN military observers were also briefed about the latest situation along the LoC

Pakistan Army lodged on Wednesday a protest with the United Nations military observers against India’s recent aggression and firing on civilians from across the Line of Control.

“United Nations Military Observers at UNMOGIP [UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan] were invited to GHQ to register a protest over unprovoked ceasefire violations and targeting of civilian population by Indian troops on 10th, 13th and 16th May,” the army’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Indian army used small arms, automatic and heavy caliber weapons, heavy mortar (122mm mortars) and field artillery in Sabzkot, Baroh, Tandar, Khuiratta, Kot Koterra and Karela sectors, the communiqué added.



The cross-border firing left one civilian dead and 15 others wounded including women and children.

UN military observers were also briefed latest the situation along the de facto border.
