India’s Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has revealed that the lawyer who represented New Delhi at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at The Hague in Kulbhushan Jadhav case charged only INR1 as fee.

“Not Fair. Harish Salve has charged us INR1 as his fee for this case,” Sushma tweeted on Monday in response to a tweet by a man who suggested India could have hired any good lawyer to fight the case by paying them half of what Salve was paid.

“Any good Indian lawyer would have done the same and with much less expenses than Harish Salve. Wait for the verdict!” Sanjeev Goyal had lamented.

Pakistan set to expose India’s complicity at ICJ

Identified as Kulbushan Sudhir Jadhav, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent had been operating in Pakistan disguised as Hussein Mubarak Patel and was tried on charges of espionage and sabotage activities in the country. Jadhav was arrested on March 3 last year during a counter-intelligence operation from the Mashkel area of Balochistan and was later sentenced to death by a military court followed by a confirmation by army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa.
