ABBOTTABAD:
Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) on Saturday continued demarcation of land to conduct an anti-encroachment drive in Galiyat.

The area dotted with tourist resorts was becoming uglier by the day due to unchecked encroachment. The authorities have assured that no property would be seized illegally. Local people fear that government servants might usurp their land on account of demarcation.

However, GDA Director Khalid Khan directed all staffers of demarcation team that injustice with anyone will not be tolerated.

In a press statement, Khalid said GDA will abide by the law and will follow the directions of Peshawar High Court (PHC) during the operation being carried out under the supervision of Assistant Director Zahid Hussain.

Director GDA Anayatullah Waseem also said that the owners of the property should voluntarily remove the encroachment otherwise we will not offer any sort of respite to any encroacher and will take strict action.

Today GDA also advertised a warning in local newspaper of Abbottabad for the voluntary removal of encroachment and directed the property owners to settle the issue within two days, any building which is violating GDA bylaws would be sealed, illegal construction would also be demolished and a FIR would be registered against them, all expenses of the case will also be charged from the encroachers.
