Trees uprooted by strong winds cause traffic jams in the city

Strong winds with heavy showers, which lashed the city on Friday night, have turned the weather pleasant and significantly dropped the temperature.

According to the details, on Friday night strong winds surrounded the city of Bahawalpur followed by heavy showers. This is the first rain of the season and people have expressed their happiness as they feel relieved from the scorching hot weather. A large number of people came out of their homes as soon as the rain started to enjoy the weather.

The heavy winds also uprooted several trees alongside roads causing vehicular traffic disruption. On Circular Road trees fell which broke down


The fence of Quaid-i-Azam Medical College was badly damaged when trees fell near the boundary wall of the college. In some areas electricity poles were uprooted, cutting power supply to the several localities.

Farhan, a resident of Police Line, said the rain heavy winds would help mitigate the effects of scorching hot weather. He the spell rain has also positive effects on the moods of the people.

Meanwhile, the local metrological office has forecast partly cloudy weather with chances of dust-storm, thunderstorm and light rain for the in Multan and its suburbs during the next 24 hours. On Saturday, maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded as 41.8 Celsius and 28.2 Celsius, respectively. The humidity was recorded 32% at 8:00am and 19% at 5:00pm.
