Men in uniform: Man killed while resisting robbery

The two men had confessed of robbing people by impersonating as police officials.

A man was killed during a robbery in Westridge area where three robbers alleged to be police personnel looted cash, jewellery and other valuables before fleeing.


The owner of the house was hit with a blunt object over his head, killing him on the spot.

One police official suspected to be involved in the robbery is posted in special Branch Rawalpindi, the second in Taxila police station and the third had been sacked from his job, police sources said.


Yasmeen Nasir, the deceased’s widow, lodged a report with the Westridge police that she was at home with her husband and children when three men including Faryad Shah (Munday Shah), Aamir and Khurram entered the house by climbing over the boundary wall.

When her husband resisted, the robbers started to beat him with sticks and iron rods, she told police. The culprits took Rs200,000 cash, jewellery and other valuables, she added. The injured man was rushed to the hospital but could not be revived.

The police registered a case against the suspects and started investigations.
