Impersonators: Police caps and badges recovered
The two men had confessed of robbing people by impersonating as police officials.
ISLAMABAD:
The city police recovered fake police caps and badges from two people allegedly involved in incidents of impersonation. Altaf Hussain and Jameel Ahmed, arrested by Koral area police, had confessed of robbing people by impersonating as police officials using official caps and badges.
The suspects confessed of multiple incidents where they looted money from people by appearing in police uniforms. They would stop vehicles dressed in the police uniform and ask people to show the cash they were carrying. “They would pretend to check the cash for some investigation procedure, and run away with it,” said a police official.
Police also recovered a 30-bore pistol from the possession of the suspects.
