NUST’s Team BGreen is the first Pakistani group to compete in the Solar Decathlon, a 10-series competition created by the US Department of Energy.

The competition will be hosted by Dubai in 2018 titled Solar Decathlon Middle East (SDME), which is aimed at students who design, build and operate a high performance and solar-powered house, according to the team’s website.

According to the website, "the main goal of this project is to propose a design that would integrate technology with previous methods to demonstrate a seamless control over the house functionalities."

The NUST team is among the top 22 which were selected from 16 different countries. It comprises faculty members and students from both the undergraduate and graduate programmes of university's architecture, engineering, and business backgrounds.
