Cyber-attack came in wake of Indian state moving ICJ for safe release of their spy caught in Pakistan

The website of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) was hacked on Tuesday night apparently by Pakistani hackers who defaced the site and demanded the hanging of Indian spy Kulbushan Jadhav.

The screenshot of the defaced website was widely shared on social media after which the authorities successfully took back hold of the site.

The hackers used derogatory language against the Indian government and mocked the demand by the country to free its spy caught in Pakistan.

The attack came in wake of the Indian state moving the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for the safe release of Jadhav who has been given the death sentence in Pakistan after he was found involved in espionage and sponsoring terrorist networks.

In his confessional statement, Jadhav admitted that he was working directly under the RAW chief, further vindicating Pakistan’s stance of India’s involvement in subversive activities. He was arrested from Balochistan in March last year.

This was not the first cyber-attack India has faced this year. In January, hackers defaced India’s elite National Security Guard’s website and left anti-India messages.

The hackers who identified themselves as the ‘Alone Injector’ left a message for Indian Prime Minister Narendar Modi and also uploaded a picture showing Indian police brutality in occupied Kashmir.

The hackers identifying themselves as ‘Alone Injector’ also left a message for the India Forces mocking them for staging a false surgical strike. A message reading “Pakistan Zindabad’ was also placed on the home screen.
