
He was speaking at the judicial conference on mental health organised by the Justice Project Pakistan (JPP), in collaboration with the Lahore High Court and the Punjab Judicial Academy.
Commenting on the role of social activists, Umar said they could inform the judiciary on matters of mental health to assist litigation.
LHC Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh presided over the conference.
He said difficulties faced by people with mental health problems during trial have come to the fore.
