District Police Officer Muzaffargarh Asad Malik said police have registered a case against the assailants including Zareef Jhallan and no one would go unpunished. Police said Zareef had divorced his wife Shazia following a domestic feud two years ago. After their divorce, Muhammad Yameen married Shazia.
Zareef did not like this and had been threatening Yameen of dire consequences.
On the day of the incident, Yameen was his way to a nearby village when Zareef and his armed accomplices caught hold of him and tortured him severely.
The assailants injured the eyes of the victim besides breaking his limbs. Local people foiled their attempt and shifted the victim to a nearby health centre. A case has been registered against the accused.
