Army, FC and other agencies lauded for improved law and order

Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has assured Pakistan Army’s continued support to facilitate development efforts in Balochistan.

“We shall continue to facilitate development efforts in Balochistan,” he said during a visit to Awaran district on Saturday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The army chief was briefed about the security situation and community assistance initiatives taken by Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps (FC) in Balochistan.

He was informed that almost 150,000 individuals had benefitted from medical initiatives which included an active partnership with the civil administration to increase the capacity of the Awaran District Headquarters Hospital.

Gen Bajwa was also told that around 200 students in Awaran were being provided with free education with boarding and lodging facilities by the army and FC, the military’s media wing said, adding that a new school had also been established recently by FC Balochistan.

He lauded the efforts of the army, FC and other law-enforcement agencies for improving law and order in the area.

Later, the army chief met with Awaran elders and notables who appreciated the army’s efforts for security and development in the area. The army chief thanked the locals for supporting the security forces.

On his arrival, Gen Bajwa was received by Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Aamer Riaz.
