Aman Foundation's chairperson wins Social Entrepreneur of the Year award

Chairperson Aman Foundation, Fayeeza Naqvi, was presented with the Social Entrepreneur of the Year award by Schwab Foundation on Thursday, an organisation statement said.

“Aman as a whole is thrilled to be recognised for its efforts in health and education in Pakistan,” the foundation wrote on its Facebook page.



The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship aims to provide platforms at the regional and global level to highlight and advance leading models of sustainable social innovation, according to its website.

The international organisation works in collaboration with the stakeholders of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Aman Foundation was established with a resolve to solve Pakistan’s problems using the social entrepreneur techniques. “With a focus on two verticals – health and education – Aman invests in scalable, sustainable initiatives that are geared towards systemic change,” the foundation says on its website.

In January last year, Fayeeza also won the first-ever Global Humanitarian Award for Women’s and Children’s Health for her contributions to Pakistan’s health and education sector.

The chairperson of the Aman Foundation, along with her husband Arif Naqvi, was honoured as one of the four winners of the first-ever Global Humanitarian Award for Women’s and Children’s Health at the 2016 International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) in Nusa Dua, Indonesia.

Upon winning the award, Fayeeza said, “Aman is dedicated to promoting the centrality of family, and dignity of life for all. The ‘Sukh’ program was created with this mission in mind, and seeks to foster gender equality, by giving women the power of choice.”
