SHC adjourns Zardari aide's bail application
The bench adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period due to the absence of suspect's lawyer
KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court (SHC) adjourned on Friday the hearing of a bail application of a close aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari in an illicit arms case. Khan Muhammad Chachar had approached the high court for bail after an anti-terrorism court dismissed his application.
The bench adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period due to the absence of his lawyer. The Rangers had taken Chachar into custody for 90 days last year and later handed him over to the police. A case regarding the alleged recovery of a large number of arms from the Gizri Graveyard was registered at the Defence police station.
On Friday, Rangers' law officer and special prosecutor Mushtaq Jahangiri were present but Chachar's lawyer was absent. Therefore, the bench adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
