YouTube is completely revamping its website and has released a preview of the new user interface (UI).

“Starting today, we’re opening up a preview of the new design to a small group of people from all around the world so we can get feedback,” reads a statement on YouTube’s blog.

YouTube has a hidden ‘Dark Mode’ and here’s how you can activate it

The UI, which is now available for preview to a small group of users, employs Material design to deliver a more intuitive user experience and is aimed at involving the YouTube community to make the experience better based on user’s experience.

“While we hope you'll love what we’ve been working on, we’re also really excited to involve the YouTube community so we can make the site even better before sharing it more broadly,” the company said.

YouTube is also introducing a new Dark Theme feature with the update to deliver a better viewing experience for low light environments.

“Dark Theme turns your background dark throughout your entire YouTube experience and cuts down on glare to let you take in the true colours of the videos you watch,” the statement added.

Further, YouTube claims that the new website design has been made more consistent and simple in order to remove visuals that hinder the viewing experience. Users can now preview the new UI at youtube.com/new.
