Business Express Train, which was travelling from Lahore to Karachi, was delayed for three hours due to engine failure at Sama Satta on Tuesday. The irate passengers protested against the authorities as the railway station lacked electricity and other facilities.
Railways suffered 338 accidents in four years
An official told The Express Tribune the engine of the Business Express Train developed some technical fault at Sama Satta Railway Station. Therefore, the passengers boarded of the train to take rest at the station but they were unaware that the station did not have electricity and other basic facilities.
He said, “The passengers experienced difficulties and staged a protest demonstration against the authorities concerned.” The passengers demanded from government to improve the condition of the railway service.
Carriages inducted for Pakistan Express
While speaking to The Express tribune, a protester Aqib said, “The railway officials ensured us the engine will be replaced soon but we have been waiting for hours and nothing is being done.”
Meanwhile, after a lapse of more than three hours, the engine was replaced.
