Facebook may know you better than you know yourself

If you have privacy issues, this may serve as the perfect reminder

If Facebook were a country, it would be the biggest on earth. Around 1.3 billion people log on every day and it has nearly two billion users.

On average, the social network keeps users engaged for an hour a day. It also owns popular sites such as Messenger, Instagram and Whatsapp. This clearly means that Facebook is able to collect massive amounts of data on all its users.

This data is then shared with advertisers so that chances of interacting with adverts can be increased along with getting more revenue for Facebook.

The data Facebook makes public is our interests, email platform, what phone we use, what browser, birthdays, details of friends and family, what our friends like and even stuff we interact with.



If we look at this from a legal standpoint, Facebook is well within their rights as this is information we give up willingly.

If you have privacy issues then this is a reminder to be cautious while using social media.
