Week-On-Week: SPI falls 0.40%

Compared to the corresponding week of the previous year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 2.42%

ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended April 27, 2017 registered a decrease of 0.40% for the combined income group, going down from 220.99 points in the previous week to 220.10 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of the previous year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 2.42%. The SPI for the lowest income group also decreased 0.49% compared to the previous week. The index for the group stood at 209.15 points against 210.19 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. During the week, average prices of five items rose in a selected basket of goods, prices of 17 items fell and rates of remaining 31 goods recorded no change.
