Gang of robbers arrested by Rangers
Eight gang members taken into custody in separate raids in Gadap, Karachi, and Hub, Balochistan

Pakistan Rangers claimed on Thursday to have arrested a gang of robbers during separate raids.
The eight-member gang of robbers was taken into custody during separate raids conducted in Gadap Town area in the outskirts of the city and Hub locality of Balochistan.
"This gang has been involved in more than 80 cases of crime in various localities of Karachi," explained the Rangers spokesperson. The areas of Karachi where this gang was involved in street crime included Orangi Town, Ayesha Manzil, Ayub Goth, Sacchal Goth, Abul Hassan Ispahani Road, Yousuf Goth, New Sabzi Mandi, Gulzare Hijri, Orangi Town, Safoora Goth and Super Highway. "The ratio of street crime in these areas had increased due to this gang," said the spokesperson.

The alleged gang members included Omar Magsi, Ali Hassan alias Akbar, Ibrahim Magsi and Kashif Magsi, who were hiding in Hub, Balochistan, after killing at least two people in Karachi over offering resistance during a robbery, said the spokesperson. He added that the Rangers troops, on the basis of technical monitoring and ground surveillance, arrested them from Hub area. Meanwhile, the Rangers arrested four more members of the gang, identified as Zahid Ali, Azizullah, Omar Farooq and Ahsanullah, during a separate raid in Gadap Town on the information provided by the suspects arrested from Hub.
The gang has also been accused of robbing at least Rs3.5 million in bank heists in the city. The Rangers troops also claimed to have recovered arms and ammunitions from their possession. Further investigations are underway.
