Practical examinations will be held after the first phase of the examinations, he said. According to him, the BIEK teams have worked tirelessly to issue admit cards and complete the entire examination procedure on time.

The exams for the first phase will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30pm while the commerce regular and private exams in the same phase will be held in evening shift, from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. "A total of 182,032 students will be appearing in the examinations in phase one of the annual examinations," said Ahmed, adding that the number of centres in the morning shift will be 118 and 104 in the evening shift.

Centre controlling officers [CCOs] have been assigned duties, who will ensure that the examination papers reach the centres on time. "There are 60 CCOs assigned in the morning shift and 54 in the evening," the chairperson said.

To curb cheating, a monitoring cell has also been established along with a vigilance team to perform duties during exams hours. The board has made 54 vigilance teams for morning and 49 for evening exams.

"We have written to almost all the security and law enforcing agencies asking for help in the examination process and also to apply Section 144 around the centres," he said. Ahmed added that they have also written to K-Electric to make sure that centres do not face load-shedding during the exam hours.
