Falcons work a treat in inaugural squash league
Yousaf-led side claim gold medal, pocket Rs1m prize money

Treet Falcons clinched the inaugural FMC Squash Premier League title after edging Trust Mavericks 4-3 on the final day of the tournament in Lahore on Monday.
The revolutionary league, which featured seven teams of seven players from seven different age groups, had Falcons as its first champions thanks to fantastic work from all seven of their players namely captain Sheikh Saqib Yousaf, Aiman Shahbaz, Usmar Hassan, Ibtisam Riaz, Tayyab Rauf, Khaqan Malik and Hamza Shaukat.
With that, the Falcons took home the gold medal and also pocketed prize money of Rs1 million.
Meanwhile, Trust Mavericks took the silver medal with eight points to their name, followed by Servis Stars and FMC Strikers.
Hamad Fareed was declared the best player in men’s category, whereas national champion Samar Anjum was adjudged the best female player of the tournament.
Salman Saleem, Ibtisam, Usman Alaudin, Khaqan and Anas Bukhari were named the best players in the U19, U17, U15, U13 and U11 categories respectively.
