Growing number of enrolments: Four new state-of-the-art hostels planned at UAF
New facilities will allow accommodation of more students at main campus

University of Agriculture, Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan has said four new state-of-the-art hostels would be established at the main campus of the varsity to meet the growing number of enrolments.
The vice chancellor said this while addressing hall warden of office annual function on Saturday. Giving details, he said under the project of Pak-Korea Agri Innovation Park, four new hostels would be established.
“Steps are being taken to meet the demands of increasing number of enrollments at the campus,” he said. Four hostels for sub-campuses in Burewala and Okara-Depalpur are also on the cards.
He said quality research and a knowledge-based economy would help provide solutions to the problems of society, farmers and industry.

“Trained manpower is essential to alleviate poverty from the country,” he remarked. Stressing the need for out of the box solutions of issues of the farming community, he urged researchers to come with the innovative ideas to solve the problems of the stakeholders, industry and farming community for the prosperity of the country.
He also urged the teaching community to become self-accountable and perform their duties effectively by creating the teacher-student friendly environment. “Only knowledge-based economies are going to be successful in future.”
Faculty of Agriculture Dean Dr Muhammad Amjad said UAF was making efforts to ensure quality education and research. He said it was the duty of teachers to equip students with skills and moral values in order to steer the country out of the different challenges.
Hall Warden Dr Zafar Iqbal said committed, skilled and trained teachers were the guarantee of a bright future as no nation could prosper without quality education. He said modern and state-of-the-art facilities were being provided to UAF students.
