KARACHI:
A police inspector was picked up allegedly by personnel in plain clothes from one of the old city areas of Karachi Sunday night.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Nadeem Tanoli, who was posted in Saeedabad police station and used to live in Police Headquarters, Garden, was reportedly picked up by the personnel in plainclothes from Nabi Buksh area.

Negligence: Six Pindi police officials dismissed from service

SHO Chaudhry Saeed said the closed-circuit television footages showed that some personnel in plain clothes picked him up in a police mobile van. He added that they took him away with them to an undisclosed location. The motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained, he said.


Officer held after scuffle with guards 

A police inspector was taken into custody after a scuffle with security guards at the Ojha campus of Dow University. The police officer was identified as ASI Shaikh Muzammil.

Sacchal SHO Nasir Afridi said that Muzammil had come along with a patient at the Ojha campus, where a scuffle broke out between him and the security guards over unexplained reasons. The SHO added that the police officer, on seeing security guards coming towards him to stop him, took out his pistol and shot in the air to disperse them.

The detained police officer was posted with rural Sindh SSP Shahjahan Khan and had arrived at the campus for the treatment of his family member when the incident took place. The SHO said a case will be registered against the policeman. Further investigations are underway.
