A man commits suicide and another gets killed in separate incidents in Rawalpindi.

A man committed suicide and another was killed in separate incidents in Rawalpindi late Sunday, police said.


A man committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol in Gulistan Colony. Ayesha Sultan, sister of the deceased, told the Civil Lines Police that her 28-year-old brother, Saeed Akhtar, tried first to kill himself with a knife but he was over powered and the weapon was snatched from him. But later he went into his room and shot himself with a pistol. He died on the spot.

Akhtar had returned from Britain after getting married two years ago. He was to return back to Britain to join his family a few days later. Akhtar, according to his sister, was suffering from mental stress and depression for quite sometime.

In another incident a poor labourer was shot dead over a quarrel between children in New Lala Zar area of Rawalpindi on Sunday, police said.

Muhammed Irshad lodged a report with the Civil Lines police that his brother Wajid Khan was living with his family in a rented house in New Lala Zar area.

On Sunday he had gone for work when his wife
Kalsoom Bibi informed him that her husband is lying in a pool of blood. She suspected Hasan Din who lives in the neighbourhood for the murder.
