LAHORE: A former lawmaker of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) from Attock along with his colleagues joined the Chaudhry Shujaat-led Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) on Monday. Sardar Sarfraz Khan, Sardar Shahnawaz Khan and Malik Jamshed Altaf announced their decision during a visit to the PML-Q president’s residence. Welcoming the new leaders into the party fold, Shujaat thanked them for the decision, saying his family terms with Sarfraz went back two generations. “Now we will work together for the welfare of the constituency,” he said. “PML-Q’s popularity is increasing and people are joining the party in large numbers. The PML will play its due role in the next general elections,” he believed. Terming Shujaat a ‘seasoned politician’, Sarfraz said he would be learning while working with him. Former Attock nazim Maj (retd) Tahir Sadiq, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, MNA Tariq Bashir Cheema, Syed Dilawar Abbas and Ajmal Khan Wazir were also present.
