Punjab FM to focus on social sector
Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has said that Punjab government is looking to announce a people-friendly budget
LAHORE:
Punjab Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has said that Punjab government is looking to announce a people-friendly budget this year, in which social sectors will be the top priority in terms of resource allocation. “We are focusing more on provision of health and education for the past few years, and we will continue to allocate more for the social sector in the upcoming provisional budget,” Pasha said while addressing a pre-budget seminar on Monday. The seminar was organised by the Lahore Economic Journalists Association (LEJA). Pasha said that since Islamabad is not calling for further inter-provincial meeting for the next National Finance Commission (NFC) award, it is likely that Punjab will prepare the budget based on old NFC.
