Peace and development: Pakistan has made unprecedented progress since 2013, says Shehbaz

Says the government is following zero tolerance policy against nepotism and corruption.

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said work was being carried out on energy projects round the clock and Pakistan has made an unprecedented progress since 2013.

The chief minister expressed these views while talking to PML-N Britain's Senior Vice President Raja Zareef who called on him on Friday.

Shehbaz said under the vigorous leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz, Pakistan was moving forward rapidly toward peace, hope and stability.

He said work on energy projects would be completed on priority basis to end power crisis. The chief minister said Pakistan has given lots of sacrifices in fight against terrorism.




“This is the war of Pakistan’s survival for which political and military leadership of the country are wholly devoted,” he remarked.

Shehbaz said millions of Pakistanis settled abroad were ambassadors of the country and the Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission was playing an effective role to determine the issues of compatriots living abroad.

“The Punjab government is pursuing a policy of zero tolerance against intercession, nepotism, corruption and extortion by introducing merit policy at every front.”

He said system in Pakistan was changing for the good and Pakistan was moving forward. He vowed to make Pakistan a great country and steer it out of crisis.

Speaking on the occasion, Zareef said millions of Pakistanis living abroad were the supporters of the leadership of PML-N as the chief minister has tackled their problems through Overseas Pakistanis Commission. Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti was also present on the occasion.
