Plantation drive: Rescue 1122 plants 10,000 trees

District Emergency Officer says trees needed to counter negative effects of climate change.

Rescue 1122 Bhakkar has planted more than 10,000 trees in the district on Friday under the Go Green Tree Plantation campaign to keep the environment clean and healthy.

Speaking on the occasion, District Emergency Officer Naveed Iqbal said the plantation drive was the need of the hour as Pakistan was among the top 10 countries which were badly affected by climate change patterns. He said Rescue 1122 always believed in saving the lives of people and thus provide immediate medical and emergency services to the masses. This drive is also meant to protect people from unclean and polluted environment, he added.


“It is the duty of every citizen to keep environment clean and fresh. It is mandatory for the lives of human beings as well as animals,” he said.

“Environmental pollution is increasing by every passing day due to advancement in transportation and globalisation. Trees are a good source to help decrease environmental pollution,” he remarked.
