ECP announces schedule for by-polls

ABBOTTABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday announced schedule for Local Government (LG) by-elections in three Union Councils of Abbottabad district and issued nomination papers. Following de-seating verdict by the Peshawar High Court (PHC) Abbottabad bench, the ECP announced by-elections in Salhad, Kehal and Bakot. The candidates can submit their nomination papers on April 19 and 20. Papers can be withdrawn till April 25. Following scrutiny of the nomination papers, the polling would be held on May 8. Abbottabad assistant commissioner has been deputed as Returning Officer (RO) for UC Kehal and Salhad whereas additional assistant commissioner will perform duties of RO in UC Bakot.
