NAB signs agreement with Police College in Sihala
This is the second batch of officers to be trained at the facility
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday signed an agreement with the Police Training College in Sihala to train newly recruited officers of the accountability body.
The move came days after NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry had directed the bureau’s Training and Research Division carry out the Basic Induction Course (IBIC-VIII) 2017 for newly recruited investigators at the college.
As many as 96 Investigators would be trained under the programme. The officers had been appointed to the National Testing Service (NTS) and offer letters were issued to them to join from April 17.
In this context, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between NAB and Police Training College at the NAB Headquarters on Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by the bureau, NAB had advertised 97 posts for investigation officers on July 3, 2016. In response to the advertisement, NAB had received 94,165 applications.
After scrutiny, 80,377 candidates were called for written test conducted by NTS on September 4, 2016. The written exam was followed by a psychological test. After screening the candidates, the Departmental Selection Committee Interviewed the shortlisted candidates in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. On March 28, 2017, NAB issued appointment letters to 96 successful candidates.
This would be the second batch of NAB investigation officers to be trained at the same training facility on modern lines. Earlier, in 2015 a batch of 104 Investigation officers of NAB was trained at the college.
