QUETTA:
In a move to end the debate on media regarding NAB’s plea bargain in corruption scandals, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan has filed an application in an accountability court to dismiss Mushtaq Raisani’s plea bargain.
Raisani’s plea bargain application was approved by National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s Executive Board chaired by Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chauhdry last December and approved in January.

The application was filed by the anticorruption watchdog after Irfan Naeem Mangi was appointed the new NAB DG Balochistan.
“The Executive Body of NAB chaired by NAB chairman has decided to withdraw the plea bargain application,” said the NAB spokesman. He added that in view of this decision, NAB Balochistan filed a new plea to dismiss Raisani’s application in the court
Mushtaq Raisani, the former provincial finance secretary, was arrested by NAB last year after more than 70 million, including foreign currency, was recovered from his residence. Following his arrest, NAB also booked former-advisor to CM on finance Mir Khalid Langove and contractor Sohail Majeed.
