7th convocation: 4,824 UOL graduates get degrees

Graduates include 2,781 Bachelor’s, 1,189 Masters, 851 postgraduate and 3 PhD.

LAHORE: More than 4,800 students were conferred degrees, gold medals and awards at the 7th convocation of the University of Lahore (UOL) held on April 4 at the varsity’s main campus. A total of 4,824 graduates, including 2,781 Bachelor’s, 1,189 Masters, 851 postgraduate and 3 PhD, from 11 faculties, 40 departments and 210 different programmes were honoured at the farewell. The university also awarded 123 gold medals to students for exceptional academic excellence. The convocation was attended by Punjab Higher Education Minister Raza Ali Gillani and lawmakers Sheikh Ria, Muhammad Afzal, Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti and Malik Iqbal Channer.  The chief guest gave away the degrees, prizes and medals to the students. UOL board chairman Awais Raoof welcomed the guests and congratulated the graduates and their parents.
