Two hardcore terrorists, convicted of heinous offences, were hanged in the high security prison of Sahiwal.
The condemned militants, tried by military courts, were involved in a number of terrorism incidents, including killing of civilians, attacking armed forces and law enforcement agencies, polio vaccination team and employees of a non-governmental organisation.
Terrorist involved in Bannu jailbreak executed
One of the convicts, Muhammad Shahid Omar was an active member of the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The convict had admitted to his crimes before the magistrate and the trial court. Subsequently, he was awarded death sentence.
Fazl-e-Haq, another convict, was also affiliated with the TTP. He was involved in kidnapping and amputating hands of four police personnel and killing of civilians and security forces.
