Benazir Murder Case: ATC to take up FIA’s plea next week
Sets April 17 as date for hearing an application filed by the FIA for summoning former president Pervez Musharraf

An anti-terrorism curt (ATC) on Monday set April 17 as date for hearing an application filed by the Federal Investigation Agency for summoning former president Pervez Musharraf in the in the Benazir Bhutto murder case. ATC-I Special Judge Asghar Khan, who had recently assumed charge as a judge, deferred hearing on the application filed by FIA prosecutors to summon Musharraf and record his statement under section 342 of CrPC. No proceedings have taken place in the case for the last three months after the judge was transferred from ATC-I. The new judge issued notices to lawyers of all accused, including Musharraf, to appear in the court at the next date of hearing. The court would hear arguments of the lawyers before deciding the application of the FIA prosecutors.
