RAWALPINDI: Railway police on Monday reportedly thrashed passengers, including women and children, for allegedly parking cars in a restricted area of the Rawalpindi Railway Station.

At least two passengers sustained injuries and had to be shifted to a nearby military-run hospital for medical treatment.

Railway police also claimed that two of their constables had also been injured by the passengers.

According to eyewitnesses, Haji Jahangir’s family had arrived at the Railway station at 2:40 pm in two cars to drop their relatives.

As their cars entered the parking lot near the office of Railway Police SP, three policemen tried to stop the vehicles, telling them that they were not allowed to park there.

After exchanging harsh words, the passengers and the policemen brawled.

The policemen allegedly started beating the family, including the women and children.
