RAWALPINDI:
An expatriate, in town to meet his jailed brother, was shot while travelling to Adiala Jail in a taxi on Monday.
According to Sadiqabad police, Waqas Ahmed used to work in Saudi Arabia and had returned to Pakistan a few days ago.
His brother, Waqar, was serving his sentence at the jail for kidnapping and murdering a boy in 2014.
Investigation Officer SI Muhammad Aslam said that Waqas and his uncle Arbab were heading to the jail in a taxi at about 7:30 am. As their taxi slowed down at a speed-breaker on Kurri Road near Bilal Masjid, two unidentified men shadowing them on a motorbike pulled up along their taxi and the pillion rider opened fire at Waqas, killing him on the spot.
