LAHORE: A man has taken three suspects to court for conning him out of his car in the name of earning profits through Uber, a ride-hailing service.

On Monday, an additional district and sessions court judge sought comments from the Faisal Town SHO on the plea seeking a case against a hotel driver and two others for allegedly refusing to return his car.

The petitioner, Ansar Ali, submitted in his plea that Adnan Rasheed, who provided rent-a-car services at a five-star hotel in Lahore, along with another man named Usman convinced him to buy a car for Uber to make sizeable profits.

Ansar bought a car and handed it over to the suspects on the promise of earning a ‘sufficient’ income every month. After some time, however, the petitioner learnt the two respondents had handed over his car to another man named Bilal, who was using the vehicle for the ride-hailing company.

When Ansar did not get paid any money, he asked the men to return his car but the suspects started dragging their foot on the matter giving one excuse after another.

The petitioner has requested the court to direct the area SHO to register an FIR against the three suspects.
