Mustafa pays homage to old Lahore
Most of Mustafa’s work finds Lahore’s Walled City as its subject.

Artist Ghulam Mustafa exhibited 47 paintings at his new show, Landscapes of Pakistan, at Ejaz Gallery which opened yesterday. Most of Mustafa’s work finds Lahore’s Walled City as its subject. The artist works with oil and pastel, preferring yellow, green and orange prominently in his colour palette.
Mustafa, a Pride of Performance recipient, said, “My work plays with light and shade. Old Lahore’s culture is omnipresent in my work. I love painting the old city.” Fakhar Ullah Tahir, a miniature painter who is part of the National College of Arts faculty, said, “The artist has masterfully painted the Walled City. His paintings are full of life and leave such a good impact on the viewer.” Bilal Ahmed, a design teacher at the University College of Art and Design, said, “His recent work has all the cultural symbols of old Lahore. There is so much heart and soul in his work. He is an inspiration to all artists who are painting this city.” The show continues till April 2.
