ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court has recommended the name of a former SC judge, Justice (retd) Syed Jamshed Ali, to head a commission proposed for the recovery of Rs256 billion from influential loan defaulters.
Additional Attorney-General of Pakistan, K K Agha apprised the division bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry that Justice (retd) Saleem Akhtar has refused to head the commission. The chief justice asked Agha to constitute the commission under his supervision. The court adjourned the case till April 25.
