The Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has decided to send a delegation of doctors to Turkey to treat Syrian refugees there.
Additionally, PIMA would contribute Rs52.4 million to support 22,000 orphans.
In this regard, the PIMA had signed an agreement with Doctors World Wide (DWW) in Turkey for long-term collaboration to provide assistance to refugees.
The assistance would be particularly provided at a medical centre which has been established by DWW at Kirikhan. A three-member delegation of PIMA had visited Turkey to assess the possibilities of any cooperation and needs of the refugees in March.
PIMA International Relief Director Prof Mohammad Iqbal Khan said that one delegation, comprising 20 surgeons and physicians, would be sent during Ramazan while the second would be sent after the holy month.
