Short Circuit: Blaze destroys house
A neighbouring grocery store has also been destroyed by the fire
MANSEHRA:
A house and a shop were gutted when the fire broke out in a remote village of Garhi Habibullah, police told on Thursday. According to police, a short circuit caused the fire. Abdul Malik Khan told police that he and his family were attending a social gathering in the village at around 10pm when they saw smoke and flames billowing from their house. Khan said he called the fire brigade but the first tender reached half an hour late. By that time, the fire had completely engulfed 10 rooms of his house. A neighbouring grocery store owned by Nadeem Khan was also destroyed by the fire. Locals tried to douse the flames through self-help, throwing buckets of water, but the flames were too intense.
