The provincial food watchdog sealed on Thursday a restaurant and imposed fines on several others, including a multinational fast food outlet, for not adhering to safety regulations and poor cleanliness.
Punjab Food Authority (PFA) officials shut down Apna Hotel in Gulberg Town over poor cleanliness and unhygienic kitchen conditions. An outlet of a foreign food chain was fined Rs25,000 while rancid cooking oil being used in fryers was disposed of. In Allama Iqbal Town, the PFA imposed Rs4,500 fine on Iceland Juice Corner for using rotten fruits and rusty refrigerators.
