Punjab University: BA, BSc examinations begin across Punjab

PU VC visits and reviews arrangements at examinations centres.

The BA/BSc (composite) annual examination 2017 and BA/BSc Part-I and II annual examinations 2017 began under the Punjab University on Wednesday across the province.

On the first day, Punjab Higher Education Minister Syed Raza Ali Gillani, Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) Secretary Captain (retd) Nasim Nawaz and Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasir visited an examination centre set up at Wahdat Road Lahore. The PU inspection team nabbed an impersonator from the centre. Abdul Rahman was taking the exam of English subject in place of another candidate Ali Haider Shah. He was handed over to police over the charge of using unfair means in examination. During his visit, the education minister reviewed the security arrangement and other facilities for the candidates.

As many as 2.27 million candidates will appear for the examination this year. More than 1.61 million are female, while 65,605 are male students. As many as 843 examination centers have been setup for the BA/BSc exam while 526 examination centers have been setup for female candidates and 235 for male students. Another 82 combined centres have been setup for both male and female candidates.


Dr Zaffar also paid visit to various examination centres to review arrangements for BA/BSc examinations 2017. Controller of Examinations Prof Dr Shahid Munir, additional controllers Muhammad Rauf Nawaz and Raja Shahid Javed were also present on the occasion.

The VC spoke to teachers, students and parents regarding arrangements for smoothly conducting the examinations and instructed the officials to remain vigilant.
