NICL scam: Court issues show-cause notice to jail superintendent
Former NICL chairman Ayaz Khan Niazi had excused himself from appearing in court.

A court in Karachi on Friday issued a show-cause notice to a jail superintendent for failing to show up in the National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) scam case.
Former NICL chairman Ayaz Khan Niazi had excused himself from appearing in court on grounds that he was not well.
Subsequently, the court ordered the jail superintendent appear in place of Niazi. But, the superintendent failed to show up, and the court served a show-cause notice to him.
The hearing was adjourned till April 8, 2011.
Meanwhile, an anti-corruption court again issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Amin Qasim Dada, one of the accused in the case.
Dada has been declared absconder, and is rumoured to be in the United Kingdom.
