Transport: Senior officials notified
LHC issues notices to police in a petition filed by Zhong Li Han, head of a Chinese transport company.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday issued notices to the inspector general of police, DIG (Operation) and the CCPO in a petition filed by Zhong Li Han, head of a Chinese transport company, who alleged that police were impeding their business at the behest of Shahzad Akhtar.
The court directed the officials concerned to take necessary action. Han said that Akhtar and some CIA officials had on March 19 raided the house of Dr Waqar Ali Khan, the company’s country manager, and subjected him and his family to abusive treatment. He alleged that SP Umar Virk had ordered the raid. The petitioner asked the court to register a case against Akhtar and SP Virk and entrust the investigation to an official not less than a DIG.
