PAL to arrange literature conference in AJK
PAL Chairman says the conference aims to explore the contributions which literature and academia have made to society
ISLAMABAD:
The Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) is organising a two-day national conference on the role of literature in national harmony in AJK next week.
PAL Chairman Professor Dr Qasim Bughio told APP that the conference, which commences on April 15, aims to explore the positive contributions which literature and academia have made to society. Bughio said that writers, linguists, research scholars, and academics from across AJK and Pakistan were expected to participate in the conference.
Renowned scholars such as Saadullah Shah, Ayesha Masood, Anjumuddin, Madad Ali Sindhi, and Farooq Sarwar are expected to present their copies in the literary sessions of the conference. AJK PM Raja Farooq Haider, AJK Legislative Assembly Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir, and National History and Literary Heritage Division Secretary Amir Hassan are also expected to attend the two-day literary event.
