ABBOTTABAD:
The clerical and technical staff and class IV employees of all the health facilities including Ayub Teaching Hospital went on a four-day strike on Monday.

On a call made by their provincial body, the lower cadre employees including doormen, peons, security staff, plumbers, electricians and clerks went on strike demanding payment of Health Professional Allowance that the provincial government has been paying to the doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff of all the hospitals in the province.

The protesting workers did not perform their routine duties and gathered outside the hospitals, demanding that the provincial government employ a uniform policy in payment of Health Professional Allowance to all the hospital staff.
