University of Balochistan’s student organisations lambasted the presence of security forces in higher educational institutions and alleged that the educational institutions have been handed over to the security forces.

The students were addressing a news conference at Quetta Press Club.

The organisations included the Provincial chairman of Pashtun Student Federation Sardar Shahzaz, Pakhtunkhwa Students Organisation’s Saifullah and Central Chairman of BSO Pijar Agha Dawood, Nasir Baloch of BSO, Hussain Turani of Hazara Students Federation expressed their reservations over the use of force against the students by the police.


The student leaders said that the increase in the fees of higher education institutions is a conspiracy to deprive poor students of higher education. They also lamented the behaviour of the UoB’s administration with students.

Balochistan higher education secretary abducted from Quetta

Earlier last month, in a meeting of the board of directors of the Balochistan Educational Foundation [BEF], Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai underscored the need to focus on primary education.

During the conference financial and administrative matters of Balochistan Educational Foundation (BEF) were discussed and important decisions were taken. Balochistan’s governor said that it was important to equip the children of the remote districts of Balochistan with education and stressed the BEF authorities to make maximum efforts for reducing illiteracy in the province.
