Navy commandos celebrate golden jubilee
Shift from conventional warfare has brought special forces to the forefront: Admiral Zakaullah

Pakistan Navy celebrated on Wednesday golden jubilee of its elite Special Service Group, the SSG (N) commonly known as “Naval Commandos”.
The event, which was marked by a number of activities, including a firepower demonstration, where the commandos displayed specialised skills for anti-terrorist and hostage rescue operations, was attended by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, among others.
US lauds professionalism of Pakistan Navy in maritime security
Speaking on the occasion, Admiral Zakaullah appreciated the achievements and sacrifices of the group, which was raised on March 29, 1967. He said a shift from conventional warfare has brought the role of special forces to the forefront.
He also congratulated the SSG veterans on “setting a fine legacy to be followed by younger generations”.
