LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge dismissed the bail application of a suspect who allegedly murdered a man in connivance with the victim’s wife.

Petitioner Qaisar Zaman had filed a pre-arrest bail application, claiming he had nothing to do with the case. The suspect added he was being falsely implicated to blackmail him. The counsel for the accused stated neither was a witness mentioned nor any specifics about the circumstances of the offence.

He said the co-accused in the case, the victim’s wife Tahira Perveen, had already been granted post-arrest bail by the court so the petitioner was entitled to pre-arrest bail.

The judge mentioned in his order that Qaisar Zaman was not named in the FIR, but was implicated through a supplementary statement. He added the counsel of the accused failed to point out any malafide intentions or ulterior motive on the part of the police to falsely implicate the petitioner. Therefore, pre-arrest bail was dismissed.

According to the case details, deceased Nadeem and accused Qaisar Zaman were friends and worked together. The suspect reportedly used to visit the house of the victim where he fell in love with the latter’s wife. The deceased suspected illicit relations between his wife and Zaman. When Tahira demanded a divorce from her husband, he refused.

Consequently, Tahira and Zaman allegedly hatched a plot to kill Nadeem. The husband was ultimately murdered and his body was dumped in a drain. Later, the police registered an FIR against unknown suspects and started a search.
