Health professionals to attend training course in Turkey

Training aimed at increasing technical expertise will start on April 9

LAHORE: A team of health professionals from Punjab will soon leave for Izmir, Turkey to attend a training programme on emergency health services and disaster management to enhance their technical expertise and capacity building.

This was stated by Secretary Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Najam Ahmed Shah on Monday. The training will start from April 9th.

The minister said that Pak-Turk health week was celebrated from March 18th to 26th in connection with the Pakistan Day at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Muzaffargarh and Nishtar Hospital Multan.

A number of Turkish doctors checked patients suffering from various illnesses and conducted more than 75 surgeries.

He said Punjab Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique along with 5-member delegation will visit Turkey next week to attend the opening ceremony of the Expo Medical Eurasia Fair.

Najam said that at present 13 field coordinators are visiting Turkey to get practical and theoretical training in the field of coordination system in terms of health issues in Konya, Bahkesir and Izmir provinces.

The training programmes in different disciplines for nurses are also being conducted in Ankara, Turkey. The second batch of 20 nurses will leave for the training soon.
